These Terms of Service govern your use of Tarel, a community for telling stories, listening together, meeting people, and joining live voice rooms.
Effective: September 8, 2026Applies to the Tarel app and related services
01
Welcome to Tarel
By creating an account, accessing Tarel, or using any feature, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must have the legal capacity to accept these Terms in your location. Where local law requires parental or guardian consent, that consent must be obtained before use.
Stories are personal. Listen with care, speak with respect, and obtain permission before recording or reposting another person's voice or story.
02
Your account
Provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Do not impersonate another person or create accounts to mislead, evade enforcement, or artificially influence activity.
Do not sell, rent, or transfer your account without our written permission.
Account features, eligibility, and room-creation access may depend on age, region, account standing, or level.
03
Community conduct
Tarel is built for shared listening and live conversation. You may not use it to harm people, disrupt rooms, or break the law.
No harassment, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, stalking, doxxing, fraud, spam, or encouragement of violence or self-harm.
No content that violates privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights.
No malicious software, unauthorized automation, scraping, reverse engineering, interference with security, or attempts to access accounts or systems without permission.
No manipulation of coins, gifts, rankings, levels, audience counts, or other platform signals.
Room hosts and moderators may manage participation. We may investigate reports and remove content, restrict features, suspend rooms, or take action against accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
04
Your stories and recordings
You retain ownership of content you create and share. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to post it, including for music, performances, images, voice recordings, and stories involving other people.
You grant Tarel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical delivery, display, perform, and distribute your content only as needed to operate, improve, promote, and protect the service. This license ends when your content is deleted, except where copies remain in backups for a limited period, were shared by others, or must be retained by law.
Feedback and suggestions may be used without restriction or compensation, but we do not claim ownership of them.
05
Using the service
Features and availability
We may add, change, limit, or discontinue features to maintain safety, comply with law, or improve Tarel. Live audio, messages, gifts, recommendations, and third-party services may be unavailable at times due to maintenance, network conditions, or events outside our reasonable control.
How storytelling rooms work
Listeners may request a place in the storytelling queue. Once a seat is confirmed, storytellers take turns in queue order. Each turn lasts up to five minutes and is followed by a 30-second listening and feedback interval before the next storyteller begins.
Feedback becomes available after 90 seconds of listening or when the current story ends. A listener may choose one feedback response for that story. Hosts and moderators may manage seats, the queue, room access, and participation to keep the session orderly and respectful.
Coins, gifts, and purchases
Virtual items are licensed digital features, not money or property. Unless required by law or expressly stated at purchase, they cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred outside supported features, or refunded after use. App-store payment and refund rules may also apply.
Our materials
Tarel software, branding, interfaces, and service content not supplied by users are protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the service as intended.
06
Safety, privacy, and reports
Use in-app reporting and blocking tools when needed. Do not share passwords, payment details, precise location, or sensitive personal information in public rooms. We process personal information as described in the Privacy Policy and may preserve or disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security, or imminent harm.
07
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tarel at any time and may request account deletion through the settings or support channel provided in the app. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, legal requirements, security risks, or harm to other users. Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an appeal path.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, licenses already granted to other users, legal limitations, and dispute terms, will continue to apply.
08
Disclaimers and disputes
Tarel is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, the accuracy of user content, or that every harmful act will be detected. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Before starting a formal claim, please contact us through in-app Feedback so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Governing law, venue, and mandatory consumer protections are determined by applicable law and your location.
09
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Tarel evolves. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the app or another appropriate channel. Continuing to use Tarel after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires another form of consent.
